Mechanical Head-Plate-Drive systems

Adaptation by servo motors from various Process-Control-Systems (PCS) requires accurate understanding of many parameters. A few examples shown below. Head plate mounted servo motors introduce a range of issues to consider. With decreasing SUB diameter more crowdy and extra support for safety is needed.

Standardization is good for all of us. The Applikon servo motor adapter concept with OD25 mm nose and spring coupling for OD8 mm axle are widely used. Shown here the Maxon RE30 DC geared servo motor from the SciVario PCS.

The Teknic motor used for years by Finesse and now Thermo-Fisher here shown on a 13 liter P-SUB. NEMA 20 step motor inserted in an ID39-B adapter.

Maxon RE30 in 3 different examples - a 1 liter P-STR, a 500 ml P-SUB with mechanical drive. CellMembra converted BioBLU 0.3 with magnetic drive in DASbox.

Kollmorgen AC servo motors used by BioStat PCS are not more complicated - but a 3 kilo servo motor on a light weight P-SUB do require some attention to safety.
