General Clotho, Thalia, Atropos programming recommendations based on ID 1 mm lumen:
-
broth flow: ml/min/lumen/m – 15 - 25
-
harvest velocity: m/sec - 0.1 - 0.5
-
cleaning velocity: m/sec - 2 - 5

SepraPor basics part number details:
XFCM20 = 0.2 µm / 200 nm pore
XFCM40 = 0.4 µm / 400 nm pore
C112 = defines diameter and length in inches = OD 1 inch, length 12 inch
XX1X = defines connections where X position 2 and 3 is permeate barbs
Some abbreviations:
SUP = Single-Use-Pump = Thalia or Clio
SUB = Single-Use-Bioreactor = opposite of STR being a glass/steel Stirred-Tank-Reactor
HFF = Hollow-Fiber-Filter = SepraPor brand from Meissner Corp
ATF = Alternating-Tangential-Flow = method, principle
TFF = Tangential-Flow-Filtration = method, principle
CFF = Cross-Flow-Filter = broad designation
HFF Hold-Up volume:
- is the combined volume inside the multiple lumens
- not included volume inside the cartridge tube and outside of the lumen
