SUBmerged™ ATF P-SUB keep the HFF clean
- Revolutionizing CellRetention-13 SUBmerge SepraPor® HFF (Hollow-Fiber-Filter) directly into the SUB broth eliminating dead volume
- Direct coupled HFF with inverted Thalia TM100 diaphragm Single-Use-Pump reduces shear stress, eliminates cell accumulation and clear well-known HFF fouling
The SUBmerged OD200 mm 13 liter P-SUP with Thalia TM100 mounted inverted on the SepraPor C224 HFF. The red LASER sensor in real-time measure the position of the diaphragm for unique operation. Hereby full control of velocity and selected exchange volume of broth. Pre-assembled P-SUBmerged 3 and 13 with InCyte bio-mass, VisiFerm and Oneferm SUS.
INSIDE the P-SUB
- SepraPor HFF model XFC20C224-xx2x 600 mm long with 1,500 cm2 surface
- dual OD100 mm pitch blade impellers
- 4 baffles
- Single-Use-Sensors (SUS)
OUTSIDE the P-SUB
- Headplate drive for almost any servo motor
- Variety of hoses
- Check out specification page / doc under download
The kit / the package consists of:
13 liter Vessel Volume (VV) - Working Volume (WV) as low as 2-4 liter in a rigid OD200 x 445 mm PolyCarbonate vessel
- SUBmerged SepraPor C224-xx2x HFF in a fouling free operation unifying with innovative LASER guided Thalia diaphragm pump
- The kit as standard integrates TM100 with a dry stored 0.2 µm pore size SepraPor HFF model C224-xx2x 600 mm long with 1,500 cm2 surface area. Alternatively 2,300 cm2 filter surface area from C324-xx3x.
- Alternating broth by Thalia-M100 (or TM140) diaphragm Alternating-Single-Use-Pump (A-SUP)
Thalia TM100 A-SUP = Alternating-Single-Use-Pump
- The diaphragm Alternating-Single-Use-Pump (A-SUP) exchange back and forth broth from inside the SUB through the HFF at selected velocities - mainly low for harvest and sequentially few high for cleaning
- The high precision LASER sensor measures in real-time accurately the position of the diaphragm so broth velocity and exchanged volume can be calculated
- Thalia TM100 (or the TM140) will exchange any volume within its spec programmable from 0.1 to >10 m/sec velocity through the HFF securing the HFF stays clean throughout the entire process
Single-Use-Sensors (SUS) to choose from:
- SUBmerged CellRetention™ features pre-installed 420 mm long DO VisiFerm and OneFerm pH (either K8 or VP)
- level/ground as standard
- Available with InCyte bio-mass SUS patch mounted horizontal on the wall of the 13 liter P-SUB vessel
Benefits of the P-SUBmerged are:
- avoid HFF fouling– freedom to select broth velocities for gentle harvest and sequential pulses flushing out debris from inside the HFF
- eliminate dead volume– skip all the hoses, plastic connectors and SUBmerge the HFF
- avoid cell death- inverted Thalia pump arranged on top of the HFF = hereby the diaphragm pump cannot accumulate cells
- Reduce shear force stress – eliminate hoses, traditional fittings and SUBmerge the HFF directly into the broth inside the P-SUB
Installation
2 - 10 liter Working Volume (WV) fully pre-assembled, dual foil bagged and E-beam irradiated ready to use
- Electrical-Heating-Blanket (EHB) - wrap the orange silicone EHB around the P-SUB
- Liquid Re-Usable-Jacket (RUJ) for heating/cooling with HPD drive
- Liquid Single-Use-Jacket (SUJ) integrating the P-SUB inside the SUJ
Agitation:
- via Head-Plate-Drive (HPD) directly by available servo motor and the appropriate adaptor
- Via Magnetic-Bottom-Drive (MBD) driven by the Magnetic-Stirrer-Table (MST)
- dual OD100 mm pitch blade impellers - find Power Numbers here
Drive units:
- CellRetention™ P-SUB and Clotho or Lachesis works with most PCS over OPC-UA and software like Lucullus and DeltaV
- Drive Units Clotho and Lachesis designed to master the scalable Thalia A-SUP operation and ensure efficient and reproducible operation
- The A-SUP Drive Units feature programmable broth/retentate velocity and volume through the HFF module for gentle harvest and sequential fast removal of HFF membrane deposits
- Thalia (depending on SUP size) operated by either Clotho or Lachesis Drive Unit
- Drive unit connection to pressurized air and vacuum within the lab
Don’t forget to pre-wet HFF as usual – info found here – Tips & Tricks
